Summer 2023 - the field season is over for us (while the bees are still in full force!) and we had an amazing year for flowers, bees and data!

June 2023: Lab-crossover outreach event with the Leonard Lab (University of Nevada, Reno) to celebrate Pollinator Week at Black Rabbit Mead Co.

May 2023: High-schooler Lex presents her research at the end-of-year research symposium for the Highschool Research Internship Program, led by Leeah Richardson and Felicity Muth. Lex worked with Leeah this year on the ecological relevance of multi-modal learning in bumblebees.

April 2023: Community outreach at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, Austin, TX.

December 2022: High-schooler Lex presented her bee research to her teachers and classmates. Here she is with grad student Leeah Richardson who’s been mentoring her on her project this semester.

Fall 2022: Community outreach at Book People in Austin.

Fall 2021. Grad student Leeah Richardson (far left) and Ibraheem Tizani (next to her) with fellow highschool students and their mentors having just given research presentations at Crockett High School.

Through this program, students carry out research in UT labs for one year - and we’ve had a great time hosting them!

Fall 2021. Lab dig day! Muth & Jha labs help postdoctoral fellow Harry Siviter get soil into raised beds at Brackenridge Field Lab for his upcoming experiment with Osmia.

Oct 2020: Harry Siviter publishes an Op-Ed in The Hill based on our recent meta-analysis.

The Before Times: Isabella Rossellini visited Austin, performing her show, Link Link Circus, on the topic of animal minds. While she was in town, she paid us a visit, and we had the pleasure of going backstage at UT Austin’s McCullough Theatre after the show.
